It's natural. Red jasper gets its color from iron oxide, mostly hematite, locked into the stone as it formed — the red isn't a surface treatment, it runs through the whole piece. That's also why you'll see natural variation between stones: peach striping, gray patches, and black inclusions all come from how the iron migrated through the material, which is why no two of our cabochons look alike
