Our Story
In a world filled with noise and artificiality, Wayne Helfand knew there was something profoundly grounding about the natural artistry of crystals, minerals and gemstones.

Many people want a connection to nature’s beauty inside their homes, but what Wayne had in mind wasn’t readily available—at least not on the epic scale he envisioned back in 2012. He aspired to create a place where individuals could immerse themselves in the many wonders of the Earth—an unforgettable must see Arizona experience that would educate, inspire and transform lives.
A former opal miner, Wayne's journey began with a deep appreciation for the natural world; he believed that nature's beauty could help bring joy, much like it had to his. His vision was to create Rare Earth Gallery—a special destination in Cave Creek AZ founded in 2013, that blends the allure of a natural history museum, a rock art gallery, a crystal home decoration wonderland, an outdoor fountain store, a crystal singing bowl center and a gemstone jewelry store — all under one roof.
“What can I say? I have eclectic tastes … either that or attention deficit disorder!" jokes Wayne, who lives just north of Phoenix in Cave Creek with his family and beloved Gallery dog Bella. “But seriously, what all of the items we offer have in common is a connection to Mother Nature’s handiwork—every example of gemstone art, crystal home decor or gemstone jewelry; each natural stone fountain, sound healing instrument or stone garden statue falls under that bailiwick."
